REICHENAU is situated 100 km to the south of Vienna at the foot of the Rax and Schneeberg mountains. (show in Google maps)
By car
From Vienna or Graz follow the A2 as far as Seebenstein and the S6 to Semmering Junction to the Gloggnitz exit; continue towards Payerbach. Reichenau is located directly next to Payerbach. (approximately one hour away Vienna).
Please do not forget that for the Austrian highways you need a “Vignette” = toll-sticker. The cheapest one is valid for 10 days. Price: € 12.40. Available at all gas stations and kiosks.
By plane
By plane you arrive at the airport Wien-Schwechat. The train runs every 30 minutes to Wien Hauptbahnhof.
By train
You can also reach Reichenau by train easily. The train from Vienna (Wien Hauptbahnhof) to Payerbach-Reichenau leaves every 30 minutes. If you inform the taxi service Flackl (phone: +43 (0)2666 52291) in time (after entering the train) they will pick you up at the railway station and take you to your hotel.

On Saturday morning we will discover Reichenau on a guided walkingtour. The tourguide Martin Klausberger will tell us (in German, English and Spanish) about the fascinating history and the “who’s who” of this former imperial summer destination.
